Colonel Govind Kapoor's family includes his sons Aakash alias Akku and Aman and four mischievous grandchildren. The twist in the story happens when a girl named Vaani, Akku's college girlfriend comes to their home with a child named Gehna and claims that the child's father is Akku. Akku defends himself by saying that Gehna is not his child. Akku is betrothed to his father's best friend and business partner Mr. Bajaj's daughter., Akku takes the help of Anjali Tiwari (Anju), his co-worker to help him to hide things about the child to not let anyone know about it. But Anjali's husband, a respected man in the town named Radhe Shyam Tiwari is a suspicious minded man. He thinks that she is having an affair with some other man and finds Akku's red socks in the camera which he secretly kept in his house. Radhe starts trying to find someone with the same red socks and finds Akku. He now thinks that Akku is lover of his wife and Gehna is their child. Thus, the confusion begins., In the flashback, it is revealed that Vaani and Akku loved each other and the former left the latter suddenly without notice. They perform a DNA test and results show that the Y Chromosome match is a positive and Akku is indeed the father. Akku, now desperate tries to get his nieces and nephews to prank Vaani so she will leave. One of their pranks ends up with Gehna's hand with second-degree burns. Vaani sees Govind about to use a ruler to slap his grandchildren's butts so she takes the blame for it and ends up getting slapped. The kids feel bad and give a ruler to Vaani instead to slap their hands. Vaani doesn't and becomes their nanny and friend., Akku tries to now get Vaani away from the engagement ceremony without knowing that Mr. Bajaj invited her, assuming she was the new teacher of the grandchildren. Akku ends up late, with the excuse that he went to his job to act like he was being guard of the building. While Akku is changing in Anjali's car, Radhe sees him taking off his clothes (not knowing that he is changing) and sees the car shaking assuming that his wife is having sex with Akku. Akku and Anjali come to the engagement ceremony but Anjali spots Vaani chatting with some of her old friends that she runs into at the temple. Akku wastes no time and quickly gets engaged while Vaani gets a call from their home cook saying that Gehna fell from the third floor when really Gehna fell from the be which was ON the third floor., Radhe confronts Anjali and Aakash without stating he knows about their "Apparent Affair" but Akku and Anjali think that he knows about Vaani so they shrug it off. Appalled by their behavior, he tries to kill Akku. Akku hires his and Vaani's old college cafeteria manager Popat Jamal (that is an excellent forger) to act as her husband and the same day that Radhe decides to murder Akku is the same day that Popat is to act as Vaani's husband. Popat comes in and Vaani asks him what is his child's name. Radhe hits Popat's bag which contains the fake documents for his and Vaani's forged marriage with a gun. Popat finally tells that Akku loved Vaani in college and dumped her by telling he will return soon afterwards., In the climax, Akku gets drunk and try to force himself on Vaani to tell the truth. To prevent this, Vaani tells the truth and also tells that Gehna is not hers nor Aakash's but is her deceased sister and Akku's elder brother Aman's child. Vaani tells Govind about Aman and her deceased sister's love affair in college and how she died while giving birth to Gehna. Govind feels bad and slaps Aman and forces him to accept Gehna but the next morning, Vaani and Gehna goes out of the house without telling anyone in the house. Popat helps everyone to locate Vanni and reaches the place where she is shooting a wedding scene for a film. The family members mistakenly assumes that Vaani is getting married but her director, Premnath Pannu tells them that it is a shooting. Vanni reunites with the family, Aman accepts Gehna as his child and Vanni and Akku marry and live happily ever after.
